Projects

ebookr

ebookr was intended to be a framework for creating e-books in various formats (PDF, HTML, EPUB, and MOBI). The idea was to have the content coded into one given format (markdown) and generate various documents based on that. It used Pandoc extensively, but had ambitions to bridge the gaps between LaTeX and the other formats by supplying adapters for various LaTeX packages.

Unfortunately I haven’t had time to pursue this project any further. It may be revitalized at a later time.

Disposition iteration #3

Published 03. January 2012 (Original blog)

I’ve made my third iteration of the disposition available on the net. As always, it’s available on http://folk.uio.no/arnehass/master/disposition.pdf, but I’ve also updated the project on GitHub if you wish to see earlier revisions.

For those not so interested in Javascript and Semantic Web, frown not. At my work we’ve been developing a new framework for structuring abstractions of CSS with LESS. I’ve also tested the concepts on one of my sideprojects, Zetty (will probably explain it in a later post), where I work with Compass, and it’s a breeze to work with.

I’ll write some words on it when given time, which hopefully is soon ^\_^

Aurora – Design decisions

Published 07. November 2010 (Original blog)

Aside from my studies and part-time job, I’m partaking in the activities of Cybernetisk Selskab [no], a student driven association working to improve the social environment at the Department of Informatics. As a member of the board, I’m frequently involved in the different activities arranged, and one of them is the CybWebDev.

Currently we’re focused on Aurora, the codename for a system which aims to be an array of tools supporting the organizational work in CYB. This, we believe, will be especially important when Escape opens, the student driven pub that will open along with the opening of Ole Johan Dahls Hus [no], the newest addition of buildings at the University of Oslo, which will be the base of most of the educational, academic and social activities concerning the students of computer science.

In doing the preparations for this development, we’ve discussed some principles/guidelines that we wish to follow when designing/coding, and I thought I would share them with you here.
