Music

I've grown fond of producing music, and here are the songs I've uploaded to SoundCloud. I do this on my spare time, so I only have a free account, which limits the amount of songs I can upload. So this list will be revised as I upload newer songs.

Electric River

I saw a YouTube video by Andre Bregegere recently where he improvised some sounds on the Torso S-4, and he demonstrated some techniques that inspired me to make this song.

I'm starting to get more comfortable with my drum/groove machine, a eurorack synth with various modules for drum- and bass-sounds, and especially enjoy the sample-based parts, which I channel through a Mutant Clap module which acts as a LPG, creating this chopped-up sounds that ups the overall groove.

The lead sound is just me improvising on top of the "base" sounds. It's was a fun little piece to jam to ^_^

Strings

Found a groove on my drum machine and it matched well with some acoustic sounds from the Osmose. Topped it off with a simple piano sequence. Enjoy ^_^

Forgotten Memories

Had fun putting this together ^_^

Osmosis

I've been working on this patch for about a week, had a lot of fun combining and "finding" sounds. A lot of them come from the Osmose, which inspired the title of this song ^_^

Slow Space

A little something that grew out of a session recently. I've been playing around with Clutch and Kraken, my latest eurorack modules, and created a groove that I was able to noodle along with. The Solar 42f, Mother-32, and Coral also makes an appearance, layering some harmonics.

Clinamen Coincidences

A song I've made based on a talk Alan Watts did on randomness and coincidences and a recording of Clinamen, an art installation in France where ceramic bowls of various sizes float in a large pool, and when they collide they create these lovely sounds (made available thanks to Kevin Luce and freesound.org).

I paired these sounds with a combination of semi-random and non-random beats, and a generative patch on my Oxi Coral. The song is simple, with small variations, and although there are some mistakes (some "breaking" sounds, high noise, etc) sometimes, I hope you enjoy it ^_^

Dirty Pulse

This song is the result of playing around on my Torso S-4, resampling sounds into a sound bed for other sounds. I love this incremental way of creating sounds, just finding and creating sounds that elevate each other.

Hope you like it ^_^

Desolate Trek

Recently acquired myself a Torso S-4, and this is the result of playing around with some of the default samples on the device. Paired the sounds with some drums and rhythm parts from my drum eurorack modules. Also made a somewhat generative pattern with the Oxi One and Oxi Coral, which adds a bit of variation into the song.

Enjoy ^_^

Sacrilegious Ceremony

Had fun jamming with my latest eurorack modules, and recorded some drony, glitchy samples. I then layered with some soft synths, mainly Serum 2. Hope you like it ^_^

Acidic Dreams

After having played around on my drum-machine for a while, I ended up with a beat that I wanted to record. I found some instruments that paired well, and recorded a jam that I then cut into this song.

Hope you enjoy ^_^

Somewhat Random

Came across an interesting white-noise-ish sound with the Collide 4, and thought it could pair nicely with a generative sequence that filled the mid to high frequencies.

Rhodes for the End of the World, one of my favorite presets on Equator2, filled the space nicely with some granular goodness. The sequence was programmed on the Oxi One, where I used a multi-track sequencer with tracks of varying length and notes with probability of hitting, altogether creating a semi-random sequence using specific notes.

The final piece came in the form of a couple of bass-tracks, one using Equator2, another using Serum 2.

It's a slow burner, hope you enjoy it ^_^

Soft Techno Lullaby

Was playing around on the Solar 42f, feeding it a sequence from a Turing Machine eurorack module that's been quantized, and came across a very catchy sequence of notes. Combined with a generative patch that I made using the Oxi One and Oxi Coral, they became the base for this song.

I added some layers with Serum 2 and Decent Sampler, which contributed with some longer tones.

I had fun recording it, hope you enjoy listening to it ^_^

Finding the Groove

The result from a session yesterday. The Solar 42f kinda stole the show for me, both providing a textural background of drones, but also an arpeggio that I had a lot of fun tweaking.

I'm also happy with the beat; when I locked in the final groove element using Collide 4 and Rainmaker, I knew I wanted to turn this into something I could upload and share.

There's also a generative patch, created using the Oxi One and setting probability for various notes, that goes through most of the song. It's a bit weird, but I find it somewhat charming, and creates more movement.

Finally there's Serum 2 providing the long, higher-pitched sounds that come about 1/3-1/2 into the song.

Had fun creating it, hope you like it ^_^

Nordic Echoes

A composition of sounds from analog synths and a Kontakt plug-in named Nordic Echoes (and a little bit of Equator2). NE elevates samples with Hardanger fiddle (and to my surprise, a little mouth harp as well).

Enjoy ^_^

Glory to Elmyra

I've been playing around on the Elmyra, and experimenting with a technique that produces a rhythmic bass drone. The result is somewhat random, and I was very pleased when I managed to record the one that made the base for this song ^_^

The Solar 42f comes in with some harmonic drones, and the Chromaplane fills out the mid space a bit more. I also added a sound from Equator2, to back up the higher notes from Solar.

It's a slow burn, and I recommend letting concepts such as rhythm go =p Enjoy ^_^

Arps and Howls

Came across a neat little arpeggio that I wanted to combine with some more lengthy sounds from the Chromaplane. Turned out to be tricky to keep interesting for a longer time, so added some pads and bass from Equator2 as well.

Treacherous Path

I received my newest instrument today, the Chromaplane, and immediately had to embed it in my latest creation, a patch that has evolved over the last couple of days. The Solar 42f contributed with some nice, evolving bass that functioned as a baseline for the song.

Granted, I could've tuned the Chromaplane better, as it is a bit off at times. But I didn't want to overthink it, and wanted to finish the song so that I can start on a new project with the Chromaplane ^_^

Continuous Shimmer

Another patch that has evolved/simmered over a couple of days. The Oxi Coral is doing a lot of the interesting parts here, together with a sound from Equator2.

Little Ghost

The result of noodling around on my synths for a week, also started from an idea I got when exploring the Rample module ^_^

A Flashbulb Moment

Found out that The Flashbulb (aka Benn Jordan) has made some of the samples in my newest module, so of course I had to " find" a song in it ^_^

Rample Duet

I acquired the Rample eurorack module recently, and found a preset sample bank that just "clicked" for me. Accompanied by the Solar 42f, and heavily mixed with delays and reverb ^_^

Numeric Journey

Testing out the Numeric Repetitor from Noise Engineering, and ended up with this little song ^_^

Sound sources are Solar 42f, Pluck, Coral, Elmyra, and Lyra 8.

Plucky Solar

A little patch I made to test out my latest recording setup. Utilized the 2hp pluck module, the latest entry to my eurorack collection. I had a lot of fun with this one, and am happy that my home studio is coming into place ^_^

Feedback Rider

I love just "riding" on the feedback of my drones at times. Most of the time it "crashes" into a mess of sound, but some of the sounds on the way makes it worth it anyway ^_^

Stroll

Another iteration of the patch that I made in Foggy Stroll. It's slightly different, and short and sweet with an enjoyable crescendo ^_^

Drifting

Another patch with the Solar 42f, but this time I'm also adding a sequence on the Elmyra 2
